A NEW 501(c)3 IN TALLAHASSEE

     Hello Friends, I am David Hawkins, I am the Founder and CEO of HAWKS FRIENDS, Inc. I started "HAWKS FRIENDS" to give back to our Local Veterans. I have lived in Tallahassee Florida for over 55 Years, it is my Home. I have many Relatives that have served in the Armed Forces as well as several immediate Family members. I myself joined the Air Force back in October 1981. I attended Boot Camp in San Antonio Texas and that is where I was diagnosed with Scoliosis, Curvature of the Spine. I accepted an Honorable Discharge at the end of Boot Camp. I have always heard never let anyone operate on your Back and to this day, against my Doctors wishes, no one has.

     I have been wanting to give back to our local Veterans for a long time and now, I am doing what I can, to get it started the best I can with what I have. I feel we cannot do enough for our Veterans so, I created HAWKS FRIENDS, Inc., a recent 501(c)3 Nonprofit (83-1352360) in Tallahassee. Once we get up and running, we will be dedicated to helping our local Military Veterans with Crisis Intervention using "PEER TO PEER" Counseling on the First and Third Wednesdays of the Month as well as an Adventurous Event Annually in the near future. Our services will be FREE to Veterans so, we need your help to make this possible. I am happy to say that, no one at "HAWKS FRIENDS" will receive a Salary, we are ALL Volunteers.

     Our plan is to start out small and expand when possible. For now, we will only be trying to raise just $50,000 a Year to cover everything, Rent, Utilities, some Advertising, Snacks and Drinks for the Meetings and a big Annual Event. I am waiting to get started until we have at least the First Years Finances covered, I would hate to start having the Meetings and then have to shut down after a couple Months because we ran out of Funds. It would be great to find a Corporate Sponsor to fund the initial $50,000. Any Donation will help Thank You and God Bless.
